Hello Fly Club members : Above is an interesting web site I believe it’s worth a look.
A great meeting last nite. Fran Pargeter was the winner of the fly box full of flies. Our speaker Jeff Burrows was excellent. Lots of good information on the fishery in the West and East Kootenays. Changes in the structure of our ministry is coming to our region as well as the whole province. A new regional manager is being set up in Nelson in the upcoming year. Lots of new positions being shuffled in the fisheries offices also.
All those people who filled out the fishing diaries Colin Spence and Jeff gave us last year, can drop them off with me and you will get your name in the draw. Those of us that didn’t are out of luck.
Jeff will use this information to assess restocking or if needed for regulation issues. A small bit of information can make the difference as he explained at the eeting. All in all a good meeting to be a part of.
Fly tying is over for the spring, now it will be the Symposium for our next event. Do make the effort to come out and participate. Its always a good show and a good time. We’re having a fly casting demo day on Friday , March 19th , 12:00 noon at the Selkirk soccer field. If you have time, do come out to that also. After the casting we will start our set up for the symposium.
OK that’s all for now. Tight lines and bent rods. Rod Zavaduk
